@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member 👍. The sweating was mostly hand clamminess not like actual sweating like after a workout. I’m just hoping I don’t get misdiagnosed with pnes. If so I guess if it was epilepsy it would prove itself with time. 🤷‍♀️. Thanks for your response!

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member You're not really wrong. Focal seizures can look different from person to person as they will all have slight differences. As for everything else your describing this is all part of it. Although I've never had the sudden sweating.

The sudden high blood pressure and heart rate are very standard. These are always checked after a seizure if you ever go to hospital.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member thanks for the info. I definitely get auras that precede l my episodes. I thought focal seizures could look different from one person to another, so a doctor looking at a video where the symptoms are (unresponsiveness, sudden high blood pressure and heart rate during resting, left facial twitching, etc.) would say that it doesn’t look I like a seizure. Also because I was sweating during the episode it could mean stress? Has anyone heard this before?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member What I would probably do is try to work out whether you are getting any pre seizure symptoms. If you google what the different brain areas are then go on and search what the different seizure symptoms are. The issue is that every area of the brain will have different pre seizure symptoms, and the seizures can play out differently depending on where they come from.

Believe it or not eeg has come a long way so they can work out where its coming from just from doing a eeg if it's a more modern version. It is still very possible that that for some reason both don't get picked up.

EEG- you normally need to have a seizure for it to work unless there using it for some other reason

MRI- Normally there would be a very obvious issue if you do have seizures but sometimes the brain will just look normal which means there would be some king of imbalance going on which won't show up unless it causes a change over time.

Thank you. I had a primary diagnosis of seizures because within five minutes of me talking my neuro was like these are textbook focal seizures. After my clear eeg she gave a clinical diagnosis. I had a 48 hour and 30 minute eeg and in both I did not actually have an episode with any usual symptoms. The day after my eeg was taken off was when I had the seizure with paralysis. I haven’t had any seizure med trials. I’m wondering why the other neurologist (my neuro was on vacation during this) would come to that conclusion. I’ve also had mouth numbness after a seizure and clear post ictal states which I didn’t think happened in pnes.
