My mother in law keeps bringing up the one seizure I had and than comparing it to people she knows and there a totally different kind than what I have. It's one of those things were I just don't want to talk about them whether mine or someone else especially mine. Does anyone know of a nice way to tell someone to stop talking about seizures with you? Thanks in advance

Maybe if you look at them with a sad face, maybe shake your head, it will make them realize that what they’re saying is hurting you.
Unless you ask her to stop talking about this topic and say that it bothers you, making her aware of the scenario this will probably continue... and it's all on you! She may not even realize she's hurting your feelings if she wasn't made aware that it hurt you in the first place. Her response could even be her way to show care, or maybe she's looking for a way to connect and she thinks your seizures are something "important" to you. Which I find happens a lot. People tend to "brand/label" someone for their disability... age... race (or whatever); and then everyone only sees you as that. Always remember... seizures are only a part of you... seizures will only ever be WHO you are if you CHOOSE!!! Make your choice!
Have your husband explain the situation. If that doesn't work very if just tell that you understand she loves you but this subject makes you very uncomfortable and drop it
ok... my 2 cents. this mother in law need to sip the lip. i know a couple of aunts that has no filter. sometime i do that 'no filter' thing. but you get the seizure story... not set mother in law.
my advice, get you and mother in law privately. tell her ' please stop telling everyone my seizure story. it is my story... i need to tell it.' and sees what she says.
I am on vacation, needed to take a breather because I notice stress on ever one needed to rest!
