I'm on name brand Keppra xr 750mg 2 at night so I don't have seizure my neurologist I had said safer then water to take. Lol. Nothing is safer then water. But it is my miracle medicine I am able to drive. I am very thankful for that.
I always take the brand name carbamazepine Carbatrol ER and I take generic Phenobarbital. I make I always get the same manufacturer. When I took generic types of other medication Id have seizures. Stanford University recommends the same manufacturer for every refill and if you're taking generics, don't switch to brand name and vice versa. When I was in the hospital, they were giving me generic Dilantin and my level went from 14 down to seven and the obvious happened. Don't try and tell me Brand and generics are identical.
Iām against switching especially if your seizures are controlled.

Thanks Jake. This is exactly what my daughter is worried about. NHS (UK, where she's a student) pharmacy had no stock of either Keppra or Tegrotol and gave her the alternatives. She needs to stick to her guns and insist on same brand.
