Just curious to know what is new now and that has good results as I worry about his liver
You should talk to your son’s Dr. , alternative surgery and treatments , like the brain surgery , VNS implant Vagus Nerve Stimulator , RNS ( Responsive NeuroStimulator ) implant and DBS ( Deep Brain Stimulator ) implant.
I do believe your son may hay Refractory Epilepsy ( Resistance of medication ) . You may also want to bring up about Seizure Recovery meds, Like Lorazepam ( generic Ativan ) .
I myself have have this . And I’ve been on many different medications
( more than 10 ) . Both Generic and brand name medications. I’ve also went through a Left Temporal Lobe Brain Surgery, the VNS and DBS . All these were to help control my seizures better. I Also take liquid Lorazepam on my bad days, when I start having more than 2 seizure during the day .
I would like to but, I have a new neurologist now, my last one has retired and he knew me very well, after 28 years. He would give me a 3-6 month suspension, knowing that my seizures were nocturnal. The new guy is more strict - I don't think he wants me to have ANY, either nocturnal or day time. I'll see how I go.
Same here Randy, surgery helped me a lot but, still not complete control. I was happy with my outcome plus, I was then allowed to drive. Had to have a yearly medical though.
I've tried over 9 different meds in the last 6 years. I've got chronic kidney disease also so have other health issues like hypothyroidism, osteoporosis etc. One of the best sites to Google is Drugs.Com
