I take gabapentin and still have seizures daily plus a headache every time it’s time for me to take it. Now I’m weening off it now. Just recently got diagnosed with refractory epilepsy.
Exactly Teekay.
Like, can't be controlled.
I'm on Gabapentin, taking a very low dosage with a combination of other medications. It was worded to me from my specialist that we would try this medication with others not by itself. I was happy to hear that considering I have been on the amount of medications I had been on at the time. At the time we started Gabapentin I believe the number of medications I had were reaching close to 30 or 31. Considering the epilepsy began at the age of 1 it has been a very long journey.
My suggestion is to work with the doctor that prescribes this medication rather than turning it away just because it is suggested. Be fair to them because doctors are not robots, they are persons who have chosen to give their lives to improve the health of others. I suggest asking questions directly to your doctor because having an open line of communication is a wonderful thing.
