Ever Try Lowering The Dosage Amount Of A Anti Seizure Med To Help With Insomnia?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I believe the insomnia started with the addition of Zonisamide. It was manageable at the time.
For unknown reasons Post Surgery I’m not able to get any decent sleep.
We’re starting with trying melatonin. Then a sleep pill (trazadone). If neither work we’ll try lowering the zonisamide.

Ask your doctor but I use thc delta 8 with CBD oil form. I battled insomnia for years. I now sleep through the night.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry that it's been going on so long for you. For me it's a weather thing. Every spring is my trigger for issues, and that's here in Texas. I can only imagine how others go through in diffrent conditions. Be safe, relax and enjoy. Hope you get better. Stay safe.

Oh wow, I really hope it works out for you. Rest and relax is so important. Best thing I can suggest is trying to fall asleep to the TV in bed, watching FRIENDS or something that is between good and boring. Just to fall asleep to. Maybe relax music or sounds. Or having your hunny rubbing your back. Please get rest, 🙏, and memory that there are people that want to help.

Be safe and happy.

Generally anything like that has to be done by a GP or the specialist. You can't just play around with it.

You're probably not going to want to back off your medication dosage. That medicine is designed to basically slow you down, so it's very much unlikely it would be responsible for insomnia. Either way, try every other thing (meditation, warm milk, others) before considering taking another drug to help you sleep. Regards, Jake
