Mmm, thanks Randy. I was reading your reply and possibly connected that Walgreens had given me what I assume was generic Kepra when I got my last refill on April 2nd. I had questioned the pharmacist at the time because the pills were not the usual color and she said "Oh, its just a different brand" and I did not think anything of it. But I had an eye focal event on April 4th in which I had not had that in over a year. Now that I read your comment, I am connecting the dots that the possibility is the generic Kepra. ??? God Bless

The Generics are not as strong as the brand names. The generics are much weaker and doesn’t alway have all the ingredients of the brand name medications. There are some Generics that are used for more than 1 Brand. Type and they all aren’t seizure type meds.

Brand name medications are usually better and the generic may not have all the same ingredients. Some generics are substitutes for more than just one medication brand. This generic is for Keppra only.

The brand name is too. The difference between the two is that the branded is the same mix of chemicals every time and more expensive. If you are given the generic, one company will mix the main drug with one thing and another one with something else. These mixers are cheaper than the brand mix. This is what makes it less effective. The brain is very sensitive and doesn't like being messed around with.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I found out a short while back about generics being used for more than one brand type of medication.

I was on www.drugs.com researching an AED medication. It showed the brand name and the generic brand. I found out that the generic helped more than just Epilepsy conditions .
