Does Anyone Try To Fight Off Having Auras Or Seizures?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I feel a aura coming on I say " Get Lost " out loud, what makes me feel better, today I felt a seizure coming on I took deep breath said "Get Lost " leave me alone " it stopped the seizure occurring, but it did still scare me a bit.

When I have Auras I feel like I’m beside myself, a feeling of deja vu. One day I had one while I was watching tv and it felt like the tv show was directed at me 🥺. They are just a few of the symptoms, I just stop and breathe slowly in and out until it passes, usually a minute or two.

Fighting off seizures and Auras is impossible. When the brain waves become abnormal , the seizures and auras will start our seizures. Now it you want to reduce the chances of seizures., you need to……..
1. Take meds on scheduled time.
2. Try not to get stressed and any other negative emotions . They can trigger seizures .try to keep positive.
3. Get good sleep. Lack of sleep can trigger seizures
4. Alcohol and illegal drugs will trigger seizures ( marijuana and CBD oil can help reduce seizures )

Along with a few other basic triggers.

I don't always feel mine coming on, but sometimes the warning sign is my spine tensing up until it hurts. When this happens, I can slow and sometimes stop one by "forcing" the muscles to relax by laying down on heating pad. I have a large size one for the purpose already plugged in so that all I have to do is place it and turn it on. Like most heating pads, it has a safety shut off so that it can't overheat itself.

Now if only I could get this warning sign to be the regular one 100% of the time...

I felt the Aura coming on yesterday late afternoon. Got a tiny seizure. Found out one of My Meds for evening time wasn’t taking. Slipped out of My hands and fell on the couch. That was from the day before
