Thanks For All Members For Your Warm Welcome, I'm Blessed With 19 Yr Old Autistic Young Man With Focal Epilepsy, Trying To Gather Info

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

If anyone has been blessed with a kid with combo of autism and focal epilepsy, I would appreciate anything that could help, from meds to special epilepsy glasses, to what to avoid to trigger episodes. Thanks

Maintaining your med bars weekly it will be a lifetime habit, not a burden. , Hydration is a must I bought a Bitta pitcher for that purpose when was 22. Do your best to recognize stress and avoid it. ericthom3 Sleep Baby naps are important when you get older

Welcome to the Team. I started having focal seizures when I was 10 years old. For years I just took medication but when I was 17 I got a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS). It turns on every 3 or 4 minutes and is supposed to stop a seizure from occurring. I didnโ€™t have luck so now I have a Neurostimulator (RNS). Stress, depression, playing sports seemed to be when I would have more seizures.
