Becky thank you so much. He’s 57 and just began having seizures in September. 1,000 mg of Keppra didn’t control them so they added 500mg depakote after the second seizure. He basically just sleeps. He’s been a very hard worker his entire life and now stays exhausted. His dr is aware, but hadn’t mentioned changing medication. Your input is greatly appreciated because we’re so new to this.

Yes, find an epileptologist, not seeing one, already. 2nd opinion?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Sorry to hear about his seizures. If you ever continue to feel concerned, continue to bring it to the doctor’s attention. The Keppra made me So tired it was ridiculous & so I had to get off it. If y’all want to find more support you can look up your local Epilepsy Foundation at www.epilepsy.com . @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Part of it might have to do with the Keppra. Keppra has numerous side effects that many of us don’t like. I’ve been on Depakote for probably 20 years or so. In 2019 I took Keppra for 2 months & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping at night & so I got off it. The Keppra can cause mood swings, anger issues & make people not act like themselves, all known as the Keppra Rage. If you haven’t already, you might contact his doctor to let the doctor know about his confusion issues & when & how often it happens. I hope things get better. Your friend in Texas, Becky
