Does Anyone Else Suddenly Feel Dizzy Or Have A Feeling That You're About To Have A Seizure?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So, I just got my EEG results back & the doctor said I'm fine, the medicine's working, & I'm keeping everything as it is. He also said he didn't see any signs of concentration issues or anything like that. I don't know what it is, but once in a while I just get this feeling that I'm dizzy, or I don't know what's going on around me, and my heart starts beating & I'm scared I might have a seizure. I don't like this feeling, because it's hard for me to concentrate on my work or anything I'm doing.

That’s an aura, which is a warning a seizure is about to occur

I would tell my doctor all that you’ve just shared with us. The symptoms you describe, especially the dizziness, disorientation and rapid heart beat, all remind me of my auras, or of panic attacks worried about having a seizure. Tell them, even if they don’t think it is as important as you do, because then they can’t deny knowing about them if one happens again.

It's possible that you're having a side effect of one of your medications. I take Lamotragine/Lamictal for my seizures. I have the same kind of "episodes" of disorientation and dizziness that you do Wiyao and both of those are side effects of Lamotragine. An antidepressant I take also has the same side effect. I haven't had a seizure in almost 2 years.
Google the name of a "med + it's side effects"
Bottom line : Share what you're experiencing as well as what you've learned from your research with your neurologist. The more knowledge you have about your personal experiences /symptoms the better your questions for your doctor(s) will be.
I hope you'll let us know how these issues turn out Wiyao!

Auras usually happen before I have a seizure. (And another feeling in my head too.) your mind could give you a warning in some ways. But judging from what I’ve gone through a seizure might not always happen after you feel the warning.

The symptoms you describe sounds like those that might seem to signify an approaching seizure, or be part of a panic attack. I have experienced more of them recently, and disorientation and anxiety/ fear are key signs.
