@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Not everyone gets an aura, warning them that a seizure might be coming. I’m 45 & have had seizures since the 2nd grade & I’ve never had auras & before my Dad passed away, he had grand mal seizures for years & he never got any warning that a seizure was coming. Being that it sounds like you’re only seeing a Nurse Practioner, I would start looking for a new Neurologist. You could contact your local Epilepsy Foundation & let them know about your situation & ask if they could recommend any Neurologists in your area. You might ask for maybe 3 different names & that way if you don’t like one you can another on the list. Before I decide on a final doctor of any kind I often like to go to www.Google.com & type in that doctor’s name & look for reviews about that doctor & so you could also do that. Did they do any kind of tests to diagnosis what kind of seizures you have? You can click on this link to go to your local Epilepsy Foundation’s website “Epilepsy Foundation Virginia” & you’ll find different contact information & there’s phone numbers for different areas in your state. https://www.epilepsyva.com/ourteam You can also look at the rest of that website for their support groups & events they offer. I took Keppra in 2019 for 2 months & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping & so I got off it. Keppra is known to cause mood swings, anger issues & make people not act like themselves, all known as the Keppra Rage & it’s also known to cause excessive drowsiness & sometimes known to cause trouble sleeping. So if you think you could be experiencing any of these side effects & you think you’ve been on the medicine long enough & don’t like the side effects, then talk to the nurse practitioner. Also, if you’re on Facebook, there’s a Facebook page called “Epilepsy Education and Support” & it’s a very helpful page that posts information about seizures & Epilepsy & the different types of seizures & their symptoms & posts information about Focalized & Generalized seizures. I have both types of Epilepsy. If I can help answer any questions let me know. Your friend in Texas, Becky

Hi, I was age 2 when started 58 years ago. Only a few times I felt one coming on to inform others. Bit my tongue bad head ache fell many times never broke a bone. Had a Left Temporal Lobectomy twice 89&95 clear to Feb 16/02 had my frst seizure Now more often on 4 medications more than prior surgeries. In 97 two years clear after surgery got employed at a Company full time. Never got injured so no compensation number of missed day's probably only a dozen. There 21 years and they called me into office handing me a severance cheque WHY?. Odd job for 1 day week one two months. In my teens my Mother had a Home Day Care so never had a computer to I was 50 no friends to help on them as they change so often. I also bought a Town House in 2017 for $318,000 now Tax form says $544,000 now. They had in employment offices Companies what they built and machinery as I'm affraid as memory if to big and computerized. Part time at my age no skilled trade full time would probably be trouble. Covid over and the way Surrey,BC is growing get back working and can complain in a different way that Province defecit they will have to raise the taxes. My thank's, Appreciation, Respect and team-work if hired I never forgot to give and use. All jobs on Indeed many I apply to often bugging them.

Well the main very broad difference is that Focal seizures start in one hemisphere then spread if they get any worse and Generalized Seizures are affecting the whole brain the time they start.
