Does Anyone Else Struggle With Bad Dreams? I Have TLE And FLE, And I'm Currently On 500mg Of Lamotrigine.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

For the last month I've had bad dreams almost every night. They're anger fueled, graphic and gore-y. I don't watch horror movies or expose myself to said content. The dreams are very vivid. And my partner has told me that I've been speaking more in my sleep and waking him up by shaking him, even tough I'm completely still asleep. Does anyone else have this? What is happening?!

I haven’t experienced weird dreams with my Lamotrigine . But I have experienced weird and strange dreams side effects, when I was on POTIGA

I don't take any drugs but I wake up several times each night so I have several dreams and a lot are bad dreams.

Hello, Jessica7! I am on 300mg lamotrigine 2X a day, and yes I have bad dreams on occasion, but I on’t think that’s a causal relationship. Most of the time, I don’t remember the actual nightmare, I just have the remnants of fear. When I’m taking gabapentin in the evening it helps me sleep more soundly. I do know that sometimes the news informs my dreams, and the news these days is appallingly graphic! I wish you success at getting beyond this! The only things I might add are tea and a warm compress on the forehead before bed? Best wishes…
