She has had this for 4 weeks already. Giving Guaifesin and not doing much. She has a vaporizer and take cetirizine daily.

Talk to your doctor first about using any cold/flu medication. There are some that will increase seizure frequency depending on your type of seizures and your seizure medications.

Have you ever tried gargling regularly with warm salted water? That’s the only thing that worked for me.

Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Have you tried Robitussin cough & cold medicine? Go to www.Google.com & type in robitussin & information about it should come up as well as a link to their website where you’ll find the different types of Robitussin available. This is what I found on Google about the medicine you’re currently giving her &why it might not be helping: “ Why isn't Mucinex helping my cough?
The guaifenesin in Mucinex likely won't stop you from coughing. There's mixed evidence for using guaifenesin to relieve a cough. Plus, it doesn't loosen or thin your mucus very well, either. One study found that it didn't work any better than placebo (a pill with no medication in it) at getting rid of mucus buildup.”. Hope she feels better soon. The doctor hasn’t prescribed anything helpful? I hope she gets to feeling better. Your friend in Austin, Texas, Becky
