Do Over-the-counter Or Prescribed Medications Interfere With The Effectiveness Of The Medication(s) Intended To Treat Your Epilepsy?

I avoid all over the counter meds. They hurt more than help and sabotage the effectiveness of my Keppra

It’s all a mess and in the end we’re lab mice. It’s a crapshoot. I wish I could sue the companies who are responsible for…a few medications I’ve taken in the past. At the same time, I’m so blessed to have finally found an effective cocktail; it’s taken a good 20 years. Thank God their half-lives and my seizures’ uncontrollability have yet to kick in! That said, I circle back to, “It’s all a mess and in the end we’re lab mice.”

I am not allergic, but was told Diphenhydromine (sp) can cause seizures. It is in cold and allergy medications.

Not that I can tell. I take supplements but nothing really over the counter.

Knock on wood, so far so good. And I am on AEDs; cholesterol, ADHD, anxiety, depression and allergies and probably some others. I also think that I have an extremely high tolerance level and most meds don’t bother me. Although, I do have a lot of drug allergies.
