Should I Cut Down My Meds...
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

The morning that I'm making Christmas dinner? That way, I can get it all done without falling asleep halfway through.

Thanks all, yes I do have someone who can help so I will be safe and enlist them instead of cutting meds.🥰

I've been in a seizure/epilepsy unit before. It's a place where medical technicians take you off meds under close surveillance.
Trust me at first... YES! The way it feels to be off your meds is GREAT!!! Your head is clear! Your vision isn't fuzzy! You don't feel tired some or all of the time!
But... I wouldn't chance being off my meds unless I was in a controlled environment for anything!!!!!! I'd be putting me and others at risk.
You sit there "waiting" for "your crash" to come. It can be REALLY stressful. Trust me. When it comes. It comes just as CLEAR as your head would have been when you were off your meds right in the beginning! So it might be great for a moment at first going off your meds, but you'll pay for it later!!!
Your "crash" could be when you are taking the turkey out of the oven? Mixing bater with a spatula and your hand on the other end? Maybe not carrying anything at all... but you drop and have a seizure stronger than you've ever had! The Doctor's office is not where you want to be at Christmas!
I'm not trying to scare or tell you not to make Christmas dinner! I just think you're safer with what you already know. If something does happen(I hope it doesn't). You'll probably already know how to deal with the seizures you have.
Please stay safe. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
Note: Everything I have said here is not meant to be threatening, disrespectful , or directed at anyone specifically.
Please have a safe and Merry seizure free Christmas!!! Take Care!

It's ultimately up to you, but I would suggest speaking to your doctor about this.

I think that would be your call, but make sure you make the one call that is best for you, don't put yourself in harms way,
