It's generally because your body can lose control over what's going on leading to this. I've never had it happen thankfully. It's always standard practice that you would get asked about it if you have a seizure that leads to you going to the hospital.

Actually, the general answer is right in the Resource section on this site and the link to it is posted on my page. @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member It happens during a drop seizure partly because the person is unconscious and the bladder is full -- and without the conscious mind awake and under control, the bladder and bowels are free to release. However, the fact that this doesn't happen every time for an individual (only twice for me) is specific to the specifics of the person's epilepsy. Thus, the advice to ask your neurologist/epileptologist is an excellent suggestion (by Dave). The general documents, or in the case of what is posted in Resources (which was the results of the question asked and a bunch of answers by lots of people on here. It is not useful specifically to you as an individual epileptic -- that information is available by talk to your neurologist/epileptologist about your specific epilepsy. The answers provided in the Resources are for each of the individuals, but none of them/us (since I have a response posted there) is you. And it is important to realize that even if you had an identical twin who also has epilepsy, it is still highly unlikely that you both have exactly the same reactions to medications and other treatments. This is why talking with your neurologist helps you to find the specifics of you as an individual epileptic.

There is no cure for Epilepsy, and there is no treatment, surgery, etc. that works exactly the same for everyone (including for identical twins)

I think that you should ask your doc about that and see what you're doc informs you on, I also just looked up on the question here on Google and the question you posted, I agree with you and there are alot of answers to the question, so if you like look up on Google and find out, and your doc as well, your call, my opinion.
