Does Chiropractor Can Help You To Reduce The Seizure Frequency Or Being Seizure Free?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello
I was talking to one of my clients today and she told me that her 52yo daughter diagnosed with epilepsy couple years ago and it’s drug resistant
Her seizures number got to 14 seizures a day. She used to see a chiropractor for her lower back pain and there she found out that maybe the chiropractor can help her.

No it’s 38 days she goes to the chiropractor for the seizure treatment and she is seizure free 🙏🏼 (38 days seizure free)

My question is does anyone hear a successful story from… read more

Hello. No medication. The chiropractor is manipulating or working on the vagus nerve. Here is some details that I found out about it:

When it comes to seizures, chiropractic treatments focus on the Vagus Nerve. This nerve is located at the base of the skull. Adjustments to this upper cervical area stimulate the nerve while spinal adjustments correct spinal subluxations, which can pinch nerves and interfere with proper nerve function.

I sent my daughter`s documents and the test results, they contacted me that they also need an X-ray from her spine.
We`ll go to do the test next week in hope of the chiropractor will be able to help my daughter.
The friend who is going to this chiropractor for the treatment is 45 days seizure free now 🙏

Do you know if the chiropractor is treating her daughter through physical therapy or with medication? I have spinal issues and I was prescribed gabapentin for the nerve damage in my legs but gabapentin can be prescribed to treat epilepsy also although I’m prescribed carbamazepine for seizure control. I would love to know what type of treatment the chiropractor recommends for epilepsy as it may be beneficial as an alternative.

I have other neurological issues as well as seizures. Trigeminal neuralgia, migraine R.A. I have been seeing a very gifted physical therapist who has a chiropractor on staff. After the second year I have added the chiropractor to my treatment. With treatments 2 x month I have this to be of much help. Don't expect to have relief from just one treatment. When I started I needed treatment 2 x week. With treatments I need only 1 treatment 2 x month. I have less seizures, less Trigeminal pain, less migrains.
