I hid my epilepsy all my life. No choice; my parents refused to support me and threw me out of their home. I lost my job as an OT in a school setting in 2008 after a seizure where I could not hide the fact that I couldn’t walk because of the hip injury I sustained in the seizure’s fall. My 2008 salary was $75,000 a year so I get a decent disability check now assisted by a family trust my son administers. That’s my story. Thinking of you and wishing you well! Great info here; nice people too. I wish this site was around when I was diagnosed in 1969 lol
I graduated in the mid 1990's. I taught elementary for 2-3 years. The stress didn't work with my epilepsy. However I was able to teach preschool for 16 years as it was a less stressful job.
