ep·i·lep·sy
/ˈepəˌlepsē/
noun
noun: epilepsy
a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness, or convulsions, associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

Key word being “recurrent”. However, there are certain types of epilepsy that is controlled by medication and not having seizures due to it being controlled. That being said, there are times people have a seizure due to many reasons that don’t categorize them as an epileptic. For example, drug withdrawals, alcohol withdrawals, hitting your head, as well as many more.
