anyone finds it difficult to have a relationship or marriage due to triggers or even being too emotional to the point where you just give up …

I have had epilepsy most of my life.
When I was 27yrs old I met my wife.
After a couple of dates, she still wanted to go out.
At this time, we had our first conversation about epilepsy and told her it had been years since my last seizure.
She had a positive attitude and would like to know more about it.
We have been married now for 34yrs and have had 2 sons now adults.
My seizures returned 12 yrs ago and she has been through some of my worst troubles including 5 different medications with 5 terrible side effects.
I guess what I'm saying most friends you once have had will quietly disappear by not including you in their friendship.
If you find a friend who wants to learn about our disease, you will have found a friend that could last a lifetime.
Don't turn them away for they are few and far between.
Have a blessed day.

I’ve been alone for decades, but I do know my former husband was such a narcissist he would have been gone by the end of the day!! No joke, there are worst things than being alone …
However, there are folks out there that would love and stand by you no matter what-

I was married in my early stages of epilepsy and I do believe that it played a major factor in my divorce. I never reached out and tried to start another relationship but I would recommend to not seclude yourself and don't think there's anything wrong with you. Just don't give up on yourself and I wish you well. 🙂

sounds like a familiar story . i’ve only has 2 serious relationships since i was 17. i was diagnosed with epilepsy at 12 yrs old so i was on medications since i was in Elementary school all the way through H.S . my nightmare became worse and worse until i became a mom . i was filled up with meds . and having a baby made it worse , i was diagnosed with PTS , was on antidepressant. and triggered me even more . was put in a behavior facility for 4-6months due to OD . my LO was only couple months old . that 6yr relationship tumbled down . second was due to Emotional Stress . so is difficult to get back there in the world and begin to do it all over again . now wit two children (different) relationships of my past . feel lonely but loved at the same time by my kiddos . but sometimes it sucks

Have epilepsy nearly 20yrs now. 3 relationships ruined because of it. Partners couldn't handle the seizures.
Each break up was amicable. I wished them well & told them how envious I was they could get away from it.
In a complex partial the meds had me crazy so much so I took an overdose my dog barking at me made me realise what I"d done & I phoned an ambulance on myself. They got me to a hospital, pumped me out. When I came round they told me what I did. I couldn't remember any of it!! So sad, I was very lucky cos they saved my life. Took me off the meds.
You are stronger than you think. You can get through it
Keep smiling. Everyday is priceless 💞
