I guess the biggest thing to emphasize is "NEVER GIVE UP". I battled with seizures in a very frustrating way. A couple of times I thought I was gonna be in total control of seizures but after a couple of traumatic experiences, back came the seizures. I finally had a break go my way when after an almost fatal accident, I got a call from my mother-in-law to watch Discovery Channel and it was about brain surgery. I watched it. It convinced me I needed surgery and this all led to having tests done, having surgery to remove a 3-inch cube of my left temporal lobe and after 40 years of battling with epilepsy, I have had control for the last 23 1/2 years. Not like anyone here needs help forgetting something but life after surgery is helping me forget about the years before.

Living with Epilepsy Seizure is rough. Having Epilepsy Seizure for most of my life. Starting to have seizures from 6 months old. Being in ICU for 6 days from Spinal Meningitis. Having seizures mostly at night during sleep. Waking up in the mornings. With bitten inside cheek & tongue. As I grew up. I was getting auras to get me ready for seizures. Which made it better for me. I was able to stop what I was doing. To get ready for seizures. I was able to get a driver's license. Graduated from high school & college. Getting a teacher certification & teach PE/Health. As well as coach football & baseball. I did have seizures in the classroom, during practice & games. Having auras & being abke to tell the students & athletes. To get the principal, teachers or coach. After dealing with seizures for 40 years. I had a Right Lobectomy Brain Surgery. After my surgery in December 2012. I've been seizure free for 10 years! I'm still recovering from the surgery. Being lightheaded, dizzy & many headaches. My neurosurgeon said recovery can be up to 15-20 years. It can be less or can be more. I did have to retire from teaching. But, I can be a Substitute Teacher. Being on disability now. Even after having the brain surgery. Not able to do many things. I still was able to meet a woman. First date May 15 2013. Been married since May 2019. I'm happy that I'm still alive. I did almost committed Suicide 2 times!! Not being happy having to live with Epilepsy Seizure Disorder. We all need to have a Good Positive Attitude. It can be rough & tough living with Epilepsy Seizure Disorder. But, we all have good family & friends. Giving us all the Love & Support.🥰❤️
