The magnet for the RNS is used to mark a spot where you have a seizure. Whenever I have a seizure or aura we’ll touch the RNS-my head with the magnet. When we go see the doctors and they look at my seizures they can also see where I used the magnet to mark a seizure. If I’m not home and don’t have the magnet with me it’s okay they still will be able to find my seizures. So it highlights the spot.

The VNS is implanted on the left side of a person’s body, above everyone’s rib cage, The vagus nerve is attached to a nerve located on the left side of a person’s neck. The nerve is not usually big enough to be seen/noticed by other people. People use the magnet to activate the stimulator. A person has a seizure, right after it starts a person slides the magnet over the stimulator, the stimulator turns on and a pinch on the neck/the vagus nerve happens.

It is for the seizures. It is used for treatment on seizures. Mine was older and it wasn't working for me. I had it taken out.
