Hippocampal Sclerosis
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, which of you have temporal lobe epilepsy? What medications do you use and how well have you controlled the attacks?
I am aware that surgery is appropriate.
Which of you practice homeopathy and what?
Thanks in advance for the answers!

If you'd like an idea of what I've tried holistically maybe we can connect off line.

I grew up with temporal lobe epilepsy, which is the most common type of epilepsy. Surgery is a very good option, but you have to be a good candidate, in order to have it. I had a temporal lobectomy, in 1993, and it completely changed my life for the better, even though my seizures were pretty mild. I took Dilantin and Phenobarbital, for over 10 years, and was later prescribed Tegretol, which I took for about 13 years.
