So What Is Your Craziest Seizure Story?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

Mine is when it took like a mix of 7 or 8 security guards and a couple psych ward nurses to get me in a straight jacket. Can't remember if that was the time I was dead for 7 minutes or the guards. Was tripped out over both of these cause when the security guards had to hold me down I managed to bite one, he was cool about it though ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have lots of crazy stories but the big one would probably be the one when I was 13 years old and I was in junior high. I was in class and I needed to use the restroom. I went up to my teacher and asked him if I could go. He told me no so I sat back down at my desk. Then all of a sudden I looked down and my pants were soaked. I knew that meant I had a seizure. I got up and went straight for the door waving at my teacher to come with me. I told him how I must have just had a seizure and showed him my soaked pants. I went to the office and called my mom telling her what happened. She left work and brought me a new pair of pants. When she arrived she went and had a talk with the teacher who refused to let me use the restroom. The teacher told my mom that if I ever asked to use the restroom again I could go. At least none of my classmates realized what had happened.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member dude the EMT people in my area hate my ass ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm always either in the shower (gets annoying cause my face gets messed up lol) or my room mostly whenever I tend to have one. They hate going down my houses stairs cause they wrap around with the wall plus it's a small space and I'm a big dude ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sean2, I was very lucky that, during my years of having seizures, I only had a couple of episodes where I went pee in my pants. I was at home and I was crying because my mom was making me clean the fridge, all of a sudden, I had a seizure and peed. The 2nd time, I was at work, it was a Saturday, so there were only about 3 people at the office. I believe that I went to the restroom, but didn't quite make it to the toilet. Fortunately, I was wearing black pants, so I took them off, washed the wet area, and put them back on. I had to go back to work.
The one episode that I had that got me really upset, happened during my first days, in France. I had not been sleeping, because of the 8-10 hour difference, and I was attending the university during the day. My roommate and I wet to the bank. All of a sudden I had a seizure, and I believe I fell, but was conscious. My roommate and the bank employees freaked out. She went and the USC Chaperone, who was with our group of students. I kept telling everyone that I had epilepsy and had experienced a seizure. We went back to my room, where I showed them my medication. They took me to the doctor, against my will. He kept insisting that I was pregnant, even though I hadn't been dating anyone, in a long time. The Chaperone, who was fluent in French, English, and Spanish, thought that I didn't understand the doctor, but clearly kept hearing, "un bebe", a baby or un bebรฉ in Spanish, followed by you are having, in French, which I understood, it's basic French. I kept saying "c'est ne pas possible", which is "it's not possible''. She decided to talk to me in Spanish, so I told her that I understood exactly what he was saying, and that unless I was the Virgin Mary, that it couldn't be. I went back and forth with them, trying to get them to understand that I had had a seizure, but to no avail. The doctor gave me a form to go have a pregnancy test done, later that week. I threw it down a bridge, before coming back to the U.S. This was in 1979, that kid would be 44, if he/she had existed. This tells you how ignorant people were, back then, about epilepsy, and mental disorders.

Iโ€™ve now had seizures for 31 years and luckily thatโ€™s the one and only time I remember wetting my pants. Iโ€™m always with my parents or someone who knows I have seizures (since I canโ€™t drive) so they can always inform people when Iโ€™m having a seizure and whatโ€™s going on. When I started working my coworkers would dial 911 every time I had a seizure. It got to where EMT said they were going to charge me for gas if they kept getting called so I got my coworkers to stop calling.
