hi Jack, I am learning very quickly that everyone's epilepsy is unique to them.

Hi Ellie, didn’t realize it was you who asked the question at first….I wrote a short novel about my experience with subclinical seizures in another question you asked recently but to simply answer your question here….I have subclinical seizures regularly. Vary with triggers going on, stress, lack of sleep, missed meds. What would be considered a subclinical seizure may be days or weeks apart but I do have thousands of spikes a day. The RNS logs them when they are longer than 4 secs. (So much for a short answer 🙄🤣)

Subclinical seizures are basically just seizure activity in the brain. I'm not too sure why the neurologist would do this unless the activity was really active. Most of the time in my case, my neurologist doesn't take the subclinical into account. Whether that's good or not I'm not sure. But all my increases have only happened because of TC or Focal seizures. But you have to remember it is always a case by case thing.

same for my 17yr old son. he feels completely normal even though eeg is active. but neuro now wants to add zebinix (aptiom) to his meds. already on keppra 1000mg twice a day. my son not happy at all since he feels hes totally fine and doesnt even want to be taking keppra. has no side effects from keppra at least. but neuro wont sign off on his driving until eeg normal even tho no clinical seizures happening

Yes, i have them. most of the times I have had a EEG done the whole thing just feels like any normal EEG where no seizure has happened but they always pick up the Subclinical seizure activity. It will happen all the time even if things seem normal.
