Medication Sid Effects
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question đź’

I am taking 3000 mg of Keppra and 450mg of Oxcarbazepine per day. Is there anything to reduce the side effects of these medications? I will do some research and share what I find out. Thank you

I am 1 of those people it works good for ... now. The time tried on it, did not work well for me either. That was a long time ago. That is 1 of the meds. now taking 1 in the morning and evening. No longer have side affects used too.

Hi Phillywoman I was on high dose of Keppra until added lamotrogine. I was weaned off Keppra because my emotions were all over the place and vimpat was added. I am now trying briviact with the other two meds. My seizures have calmed down but side affects with them all! I hope you can find that magic right med combo to help. I also take 10mg x2 daily amlodipine for the HBP

I have learned more from this site and my own research abut epilepsy/seizures than from my doctors. I do a lot of research and I am sure others do the same before we answer any questions

I have learned one thing about keppra. Some people that take keppra experience what they call “keppra rage”. I know keppra works at least for some people. I have been trying it and I did experience some of the “keppra rage” but that has worn off.

Sorry I can’t answer your question. I have never taken those to meditations at the same time. The best person to ask is an educated neurologist.
