I have focal impaired awareness seizures, focus mainly (L) side & sometimes (R), early adult onset. They're not completely controlled by medications, so I've been on many meds throughout the years. I had hypernatremia several times! Medications did it to me.
My Epileptologist in MD is my buddy! My new one is nice but if I had a problem, my friend in MD tells me what to do! I decided that have him for my Dr. Again!
Please do! Even read up on it. I never heard of hyponatremia until I had routine blood work done. One never knows the havoc epilepsy meds plays on our bodies. I had an extremely low vitamin D deficiency caused by my meds preventing absorption of that important vitamin. Through frequent testing for vit D and now supplements, my level is normal.
