Hello I have partial seizures and right now I am on toparimate, lamotrigine, clonazepam, Citalopram and days before and after my period acetazolamide. I used to have Generalized so I got a VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulator) and I was good for 1 year, but then the seizures came back and my neurologist now says they have changed to partial. She first suggested switching to perampenal, but I saw all bad reviews and Iβm conflicted if I should switch medications. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member but like some have serious risks like I could lose my sight permanently and then another one says it could cause hallucinations and stuff. My thing is sure if I get the side effect I can get off but what if I lose my sight or get hallucinations and it becomes permanent. What if the side effects stay permanently? Then what will I do?
My religious beliefs I can't allow myself to be changed from how my Lord made me.
Francis2, You are probably right. The last medication i was on was
Zonasimide. It was the one med that seemed to help the most with
my seizures, but I was still not under control. That's why the doctor
opted for surgery, in my case.
Blessings
I'm on a meds for two types of siezures one being partial seizures. Zonisimide. Although I feel it works my Drs keep increasing the dosage but, maybe because I'm med resistant.
