Dent In Head Post-op?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im 4 months post op- craniotomy, and it seems like i have a dent in a portion of my head where the bone flap was taken out. Is that normal and will it forever stay that way, or will it "fill in" with time? My doctors didnt really answer me last time i asked back in november, they probably didnt understand my question.

I agree with VickieRoy2. I have had ablation surgery and there is a slight lump on my left side. But i have never worried about it. I am just grateful my seizures are reduced. It is what it is.

You’ll always have the “ dent” Gigi. I had a temporal lobectomy on the right side.

I have had a big dent in my head, where they took out a piece of my skull and put the RNS. It’s been there for several years and hasn’t gotten any smaller

I also have a dent in the right side of my head. It never filled in. Surgery was 27 years ago. Nobody notices it unless I say something.

I have a dent in my head where the titanium plate is holding my RNS device. It doesn’t get any smaller unfortunately but it won’t do any harm in the long run if the surgery was done correctly.
