I have never specifically been diagnosed with catamenial epilepsy (or seizures) however when i was younger it was suggested that my cycle was causing escalation of my seizures, and when I had my child after giving birth I had a horrific time of major increased seizures to the point where I was unable to hold my baby without being monitored and on a bed or couch with pillows all around for protection, now i have recently hit menopause and I have not been having grand mals but i still have focals regularly, however I just had my meds changed recently and they seem to be working pretty good for cutting those some.

Thank you Margery. Epilepsy is hard enough but as women it sends us on an additional rollercoaster. I actually have never gotten my hormone levels tested. I guess it’s something I should do to have a plan of how to embrace what’s headed my way.

Thanks for the info Margery, haven't been through menopause yet but it will happen soon enough, I am curious about how it will effect my seizures. Its good to talk to someone who has been through it.😝
