It depends on what kind of medication you're taking I have nocturnal Sezuires and if I accidentally miss a dose I can go right back on my regular medication doses as all my medications are 8 hours time release tablets.

Each medication has a half-life.
You yourself can google and research it.
It is my belief that your body will acclimate the drug in a small while.
After that time period whatever the drug half-life is your next dose will be due.
That gives you enough medication in your body to continue to work.
I believe that is usually why the doctors tell you to take your regular dose and not double up on it.
Myself with the seizure medication missing a dose makes my body shake telling me to check Epsy app to see if it was recorded.
Remember I am no medical expert on medication.
Call your neurologist or regular doctor or ask a nurse.
will get a professional option.
Have a blessed day.
