Before I had surgery, I would have an aura which would signal a seizure was coming additionally I would have an increased appetite. Once I had the seizure, I had a nasty headache and would often feel vomit. After my first surgery, I would some times have an aura but no longer had the increased appetite drive. However a new symptom kicked in, which was so weird reason a being scared for no reason. After my second surgery, I no longer had the aura but would still have scared feeling.

Pre surgery, I had no energy to do anything. My headache was so bad that no pain reliever worked. Also the vomiting and nausea was unbearable. It was this misery, that got my local neurologist to recommend that I got to a teaching hospital that specializes in seizure disorders.

In terms of no longer being damaged, having the hippocampus and amygdala removed help reduce the most affected area. However, in terms of it stopping my seizure forever, it didn't happen because I still had seizures being caused in my speech area. However, it is way better than before and I'm thankful for that.

Can I asked what symptoms or behaviors did you or do you have? Not prying just trying to understand what is going on with my husband. And is yours no longer damaged ? What did doctor do for you?

Hi, I also had a damaged hippocampus and had it removed. However, like Eric, the doctors could not remove everything because some of my seizures were occurring in my speech area.
