When I try do some tasks some of my family members will say "are you sure you should be doing that? I will be having surgery soon for an RNS and I know it will really happen during my recovery and after. So I am wondering if anyone has delt with this and hoe you deal with it?

Actually, since I was having a seizure, I never felt any pain from either one of those tragedies. Even when I woke back up from the seizures, we were on our way to the hospital to get stitches and my arm was wrapped up. I was like what’s going on and was in no pain. It’s too bad your dad doesn’t see what pain seizures can do. It definitely effects our memory everyday. Before I had seizures I could read stories and remember everything but days after I had my first seizure I no longer could remember a few sentences. So even though we only have a seizure every so often epilepsy still effects our everyday life. I pray 🙏 your dad will start to realize that.
Got upset ,because I feel I being talked down to like a child. Especially if it’s something I’ve all my life.
When. Someone gives me directions on how to do something, make or cook ,and. know how to make it , I get very upset when people direct me on how to do things that I all know how to do.
The only time someone tells me or says to me not to do anything. Is at church other than that I live alone. I'm not just epileptic I'm an amputee. But I don't see boundaries. In fact I do things that norms can't I lift more weight than guys my size. I will walk yes walk distance that will cause me to bleed. Stupid but it happens. I have had seizures. During activities not to know it just think I'm tired. And be told later. Those around me know I don't like being coddled.
Oh wow! I'm sorry! That had to suck! Ouch! Yeah I told my dad the other day at grocery store I was hot because of my seizures and he just waved it off with his hand like who cares 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤣🤣🤣 My older brother is sick too not with epilepsy. Something else but very bad and it feels like he compares me to him! Like since I'm not in a wheelchair, nothing is wrong with me! It's messed up and stressful! Thanks for sharing 💕&I'm glad your parents protect you😊🙏

I am 100% capable of doing everything and I only have 1 or 2 seizures a month but that still puts limits on me. When I was a kid I rode my bike all of the time until one day I had a seizure and rode into a barbed wire fence. When I was in school I took shop class 3 or 4 years but one day, my final year, I had a seizure and cut my arm and finger on a saw. So tell your dad to think of things that could happen if you had a seizure or show him this post. Like I said I only have 1 or 2 seizures a month but they could come at the wrong time so even though I’m 41 years old, my parents won’t let me do a lot of things.
