John,
Where I live they have made wearing masks up to us. We are still 6 feet away from one another. The small activities only allow 10 people in a room, still. I am sure the isolation when we could not talk to one another was depressing itself. Though not a medical person, it is possible people developed Alzheimers or Dementia.
The Depression and ideas about Suicide listed on my AEDs are listed as side effects, and interactions should be watched also.

You can have lengthy moody periods (usually anxiety, depression or anger) because of the reality epilepsy and made worse by side effects of medication. Resources: https://www.myepilepsyteam.com/resources/mood-a...,

However, if is lasting more than a few weeks, tell your doctor. One of these disorders might be out of control (beyond the medicine can handle) like Anxiety was for December 2021 - May 2022. My psychologist set me up with an appointment and signed me with a psychiatrist and up for a virtual Anxiety Reaction and Control class. The pair helped bring my anxiety under control. During those 6 months, I had more seizures than I did from a previous total for 3 years,.

All the AEDs I take say depression and ideas of suicide are possible side effects. Not being able to do some things might be another. However, I grew up having been diagnosed at 7. I knew getting a Drivers License would not happen. I do not know how old you were when diagnosed or what kinds of seizures either. Those would make a difference, perhaps.
