Vimpat And Memory
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Since I started taking Vimpat my memory has gotten worse. It seems to have gotten worse as my dose has increased. Has anyone else had this problem? Vimpat has also raised my blood pressure

Yes it’s possible you’re experiencing a side effects from the medication. But your seizures also can cause memory issues.

I’ve used journaling, notes and lists to help but remembering things of the past is still difficult

I know all meds costs are different depends on your insurance you have.
Everytime I pick up my meds the pharmacist says you know how much this is? I SAY YUP…..I DO!!
The reason it is expensive its a controled substance. Plus maybe cost is different in other states? Vimpat costs has gone down for me though it is only 60 pills 100mg 2 per week crazy I know.

The issue with Vimpat is the price and getting my insurance to keep me in meds before I run out. My insurance company changed their policy so I was unable to go directly to the manufacturer where I used to get my medication for free but now I get to pay the insurance company 286.00 every three months. Thanks for putting the dollar before people Humana
