Are Epileptic Seizures Known To “cause” Heart Issues Or Angina?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have CAD and every time I have a seizure my heart clocks in with angina, either in the beginning, the middle or the end of the seizure. Doctors have said much, all testing has been done on my heart that might address that particular concern. I have also asked if it’s advisable to take a nitro pill to assuage angina “during” an episode - no answers yet.

My aura has Always been heart racing& I have never been diagnosed with heart problems. Nor has it lead to chest pain. I would do a lot more investigating before taking any pills for an already sensitive situation

I would go to quick care or ER DURING the episode. My auras vary from feeling super heavy, vision problems like blurry or lines in my field of vision, and overall uncontrollable pain. My symptoms range from "spacing out" to no muscle control and/ or stiffening and shaking that lasts up to an hour. I don't loose consciousness but I can't talk.
Afterwards, I'm flooded with so much pain including heart palpitations and pain. I used to go to hospital, but they never find anything
Good luck and health.

My seizures wake me up with an odor smell like bleach. Anyone else have auras before full seizure?

Thank you Amber - good advice. It’s always concerning when you experience certain symptoms that continually go unaddressed with doctors. Can’t help but — 🤔🤔🤔 as I recall vividly a time when those symptoms were absent.
