Seizures While Taking A Antidepressant
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I started taking a antidepressant almost two months ago. I have been seizure free dor over 8 months. I just had one this past Saturday. The antidepressant I started taking is Bupropion. I started slowy going off of it after talking to the doctor. Has anyone had problems like this?

I take antidepressants along with my seizure meds. The neurologist knows about it. He has never said anything about them interacting with each other. The only side effect I have is that it makes me very tired. Maybe ask about different meds?

I have clinical depression and I talked to my therapist about taking antidepressants for my depression and told her I was also on a few anti-eleptic meds and she talked to me about taking antidepressants along with anti-eptileptic meds could cause more frequent sezuires then you have but had to give it a shot because my depression was so bad. I tried 2 and immediately had to be taken off of them and put in observation for a couple of days until my blood levels went back to normal because the antidepressants interacted with my meds.
