I have read that epilepsy can certainly be hereditary.
It's not always the cause but it is not uncommon.

There are many who have gotten Epilepsy because of family genetics.

Then there are many of us who were diagnosed with Epilepsy, from some kind of brain damage.

There are also many of us who have epilepsy, because of getting severe sickness or high fever.
