Ladies, did You Breastfeed Your Baby While On Multiple Medications?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Firstly I didn't plan to fall pregnant, but at the end the neurologist said to take three small doses of medication throughout the day instead of 2 big ones..

But apparently during pregnancy the baby takes in more medication then breastfeeding so therefore apparently its safe

But I was only on one medication now I am on two.. anyone feed baby while on 2 meds? What did your neurologist say..

I'm thinking to mix feed with formula to reduce the medication in the milk even if the doctor says its… read more

My children are now in their 30's .I was only placed on Teardrop as I had a tonic -clonic 6weeks before my eldest was born Back in the 80's the care wasn't so good back then I was advised that the Tegretol may come through in the breast milk.I tried breast feeding for 3weeks then gave up through personal choice . I hated it All 3 of my children were on formula My last 2 were 10lb 9oz &10lb 10oz so I'd have been breast feeding all day to feed them . In those days they were weaned onto pureed foods at ,3 months. The norm is now 6 here .I have 2 grown up sons & a daughter ranging from 6'to 6'6"" in height Please don't feel a failure if you don't want to breast feed .It's your choice , nobody's business but yours. You'll be an amazing mum whatever you choose x

No I didn’t want anything to happen to my baby. Best bet is to talk to your doctor and see what the side effects are and if it will effect the baby.
