Has Anyone Like Needed Accommodations With Their Epilepsy In College? How Has It Turned Out And Was It Helpful?

I have had accommodations all throughout school for extra support and help. Now that I’m entering college I don’t know what the environment may be.?

I graduated from college and grad school, with accommodations. I believe people that have epilepsy deserve some accommodations. My seizures never magically stopped when I was in college. I have a learning disability because of my epilepsy, so I was given special accommodations. Any college or university will have a place that will give You some help. My so called friends teased me about the first college I went to, but I transferred to the state university flagship university. It was the better then the one they went to. So work harder, and You will do better then other people. Remember they are not the ones that live with epilepsy, so they have it easy. That makes You a better student already.

I needed them in college and unfortunately the ones they gave me did not help. They told me all they could give me was a note taker and extra time on tests. But that was not enough for me personally. I don't know if it would be the same at your college, but hopefully if it is that's all you need or they have more than just those things. I wish you luck

I wasn’t able to find any accommodations when I was going to a tech college. That was 20 some years ago

My son has an accommodation at school for his neurological issue, but most of the time, he doesn't use it. I think it's always better to put it into place and not use it, then to have to try to get it again from scratch.
