The fourth tonic clonic seizure I had was 6weeks off the birth of my 1st (1985) Remember ,this was different times I wasn't taken to hospital ,the GP checked my son's heartbeat &that wasn't !.I was placed on Tegretol The only thing I was told was it may come through in breast milk I didn't breast feed anyway Baby was fine .I was told they'd increase the dosage of the contraceptive pill as it may interfere with the tegretol. I think it was the other way round ,I had 2further pregnancies on tegretol but only had 1seizure &that was at night.Luckily I was well controlled when they were little Im sure there's a lot more advice &support out there nowadays eg our specialist epilepsy nurses work in hospitals with mums-to-be.Good luck x

I had med increases along the way; more so toward the end of course. I stayed physically active. Rsted when I could. I did seize just after both births. Here if I can help further.

i am currently not on any meds, and with my first child i came off them before i knew i was pregnant,and then just at the very end was put back on a low dose. Afterwards came off after a couple off months and have stayed that way. This pregnancy its become more difficult a lot earlier on, i am very near the end of 2nd trimester.
