Does anyone take statins as well as their epilepsy meds Do you think they clash with eachother
I take 2 different statins and am on high doses of anti-seizure meds. Don't know if they are a problem with each other but they are not listed as a problem. All of them are necessary for me.
I am on Atorvastatin (generic Lipitor), as well as my anticonvulsants. However, all are doctor prescribed and I have been on them for at least a decade, and I have not noticed any clash between them. My neurologist and primary care doctor are both in the same practice (Hawthorn Medical) and watch closely to ensure that none of the prescribed medications clash. They are the only of my doctors who are prescribed all of the medications, vitamins, supplements and baby aspirin that I am on.
I would never change medications without informed consent from my doctors. Sure I don't like statins but I'd rather take them than die from a heart attack. I've already had open heart surgery once and my cardiologist/lipidologist has informed me what my odds are if I stop my statins.
Statins are used to control colestrole in the U.K. Iām on them
cetch1,
I hated taking Prednisone. Talk about staying awake and feeling like running around when just sitting down... AHHH!!! I won't take that again š¬
