Non Alcoholic Drink
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So my birthday is coming up soon and I want to buy some non alcoholic cider. The company says there is 0.5% or less (trace amounts) in each bottle. I take keppra and in the evening clonazepam alongside keppra. Thoughts?

I don't take risks like that. I have to much to risk, including my drivers license.
I don't like non-alcohol wine, and its not my thing.

i have keppra and phenobarbital and i drink wine (anywhere from 7-20+%) on occasion (1 a week or a fortnight (2 weeks)). but everyone is different. if you got cider... it is a little bit less than a beer (cider is 4-6% alcohol and beer is 5-7%). my tip is 2 glasses. 1 for cider and 1 for water. and alternate water and cider.

What is the minimum legal age for alcohol consumption where you live? Would you give your thirteen year old child non alcoholic cider to drink knowing that it contains 0.5 percent traces of alcohol? Would you approve of your daycare center serving your 5 year old child non-alcoholic cider that contains O.5 percent traces of alcohol?

Should you really be drinking non alcoholic cider that contains 0.5 percent traces of alcohol while taking medications to control your aepilepsy?

It is obvious that you WANT to consume this cider at your birthday party. But do you NEED to consume that cider with 0.5 percent traces of alcohol?

If there are trace amounts of alcohol in non-alcoholic cider then the company making the cider has no right to make the claim that this cider of theirs is a legitimate non alcoholic cider. If you have alcoholic friends who are sober ask them what would happen if they consumed that cider knowing there are traces of alcohol in it? And who really knows if the traces are that minimal.percentage wise?
