I cannot go outside see what the world like without thinking about the epilespy. I am afriad of having a seizure when i am alone. So i hide away. Its given me bad anxiety.
If my anxiety is up or ive been having auras i tend to freak out and stay home because the thought of being out and around other people increases my triggers
Go out ..have fun..wear a bracelet or necklaces that says you are epileptic on it..my boyfriend knows i have them...we have been together almost 6 yrs...i have had 3 seizure in that time frame...its ok
Im sorry to hear this. I have felt the same way though, and being a social butterfly its hard to deal with the feelings of anxiety and auras. Knowing thats the auras and anxiety are only symptoms of my disorder reminds me that i am in charge! I remember my experience at work were i was in ky office and started having dejavu, and hearing music. I started panicking and went for help. My coworkers started laughing and telling me i was crazy and i was always hearing music. I walked away and had 5 grandmal seizures.
Since then those episodes of symptoms have become more frequent. Of course i panic nearly bring myself to tears but remind myself to sit still and breathe. These darn experiences are not fun but they do occur.
Remembering its your life to live is important, you cant allow your diagnosis to live for you.
listen... the new social life is about 95-99% online. as for the seizures, everyone has a disability... you will decide to be depressed about it or do something about it. you can see the world as many times as you want... it's just you need another plan than the normal. maybe an extra friend will tag along that knows the seizures and could react accordingly.
What social life?.
