Interestingly there's a note on one of the dentist's doors saying " if you're coming to see Dr .... ,Please don't wear strong after shave of perfume as that triggers her migraines"

Some smells have set me off too. Both headaches/migraine or seizure. It used to be really bad with my migraines when I was a kid. My parents had to send letters to the schools to let my teachers know not to wear perfumes or scented products in the rooms when I was in class that day. Now it isn't so bad with my migraines (unless it is a really strong perfume or cologne, and then usually it is when people use way too much of it). But seizures now, it seems like almost any smell can sometimes trigger it. Like if I go into a restaurant and smell the smokey smell of BBQ, that may trigger it, then sometimes I will smell detergent walking by the cleaning aisle in the store and it will trigger it. It is like I will get a whiff of something and it will trigger me out of the blue.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member i kinda know the feeling. i have a major league headache (to the point where i can't think straight) from strong smells like essential oils and overpowering perfumes. if the teacher (or professors) now that you have triggers to smalls, then get a mask or something. if someone asked, tell um that you have seizures by overpowering smells.
