We tried it for a while yearsago but my seizures instead of decresing increased we then tried a variety of meds .… until acetazolimide bam that was the one
I take Lamictal alongside Sodium Valproate(Epilim). Was prescribed with Epilim alone for around 11 years and still had seizures, very few in those 11 years but enough for Specialist to introduce Lamictal as well. With both meds, seizure activity decreased and I have now been nearly 20 years seizure free with both meds. Side effects included bouts of insomnia, anger issues and going from feeling very low, wanting to hide away from the world to very high, where I would be manic. Since been diagnosed with Cyclothymia, which is mild bi-polar disorder. Now know that it can be quite prevelant with epilepsy sufferers. Funnily enough, the meds I take for epilepsy are also used to treat bi-polar too.
I tried it years ago and broke out in hives!
