Is Anyone On A Diet For On Set Partial Seizues?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm looking to see if their is any kind of diet that might help with Partial Onset Seizures. I haven't checked with my Neurologist yet.

I have partial seizures due to Periventricular heterotopia, and when I started keto and continued it for a couple weeks, I felt better and didn’t have any seizure problems or dizziness. I kinda stopped, but now I’m back on & trying my best to stay very low on carbs, higher protein, higher healthy natural fat... (I lost weight, too. Like 5 pounds in a couple weeks)

Remember grains can be substituted with veggies like greens.Collard, mustard, and mixed greens has the same properties as grains.Just like peanut butter is a protein. Also lately the Food and Drug Administration has said the KETO DIET is very dangerous like the diet drug FEN FEN.These new diets are now going to be regulated by the FDA.Just like now the Nutrition Supplement Industries are soon to be regulated.Dr.OZ used to endorse the Keto Diet but has retracted his endorsements because of how many people has died on that diet.1233 people last year died while on the Keto Diet. And if you noticed the Keto Diet commercials are rare this year compared to last year. The majority of those who died on the Keto Diet died from diabetes and sudden cardiac arrest because of the way the diet is.The Keto Bars and Shakes are very dangerous. And Weight Watchers has dropped their shakes from their diet as well which was already Keto before Keto became Keto.Diet shakes are dangerous. And yes cutting out certain things in your diet is good for your health. But reading the ingredients in store bought foods and doing research is the best thing you can do.Have you ever been tested for Vitamin B and D deficiencies.Epilepsy and Vitamin B and D deficiency are related.Since I have been put on Vitamin B and D my seizures has improved except for the ones caused by my brain damage.Trust me I do full research on these diet fads.Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins University has done extensive research on the Keto and has found that the Vitamin B and D levels drops by 50% .And that the Keto Diet is worse than a vegetarian diet. The University of Cincinnati also is doing research on the Keto and found that the Keto Diet with the high fatty foods and organs you eat are clogging the arteries faster than an unhealthy diet.I have done my research because I had a Widow Maker Heart Attack. And several other universities are doing the same. Also those athletes who were put on the Keto Diet has lost bone density due to a lack of calcium in that diet.

SeeA Mediterranean Diet can also have beef and chicken in it as well. You can substitute the seafood with other meats as well.Have you forgot that GYROS is made with either beef, lamb or chicken. And what you do for exercise is fine. You just did not do enough research on the Mediterranean Diet.Plus garlic and tomatoes is very good for our Epilepsy. You just did not do enough research in the right places.Olive Garden is not only Italian but also a Mediterranean Restaurant as well.I took culinary arts school at Cincinnati State Technical College and was taught the Mediterranean diet. But over in the Mediterranean they love their Seafood. You can substitute fish with Lamb, beef, and chicken. So don't say you can't do the Mediterranean diet. And it is all about cooking with olive oil , garlic, tomatoes, and the Mediterranean spices like curry, paprika, and cloves.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member i am confused the mediterranean diet, you have ... fruits and veggies and grains, sea foods, eggs and dairy and portly, then the last is meat and sweets. with keto you have veggies (low in carbs), dairy, good fats and oils, fatty fish and meats and organ meats and eggs, nuts and seeds and berries, and last is herbs and spices and lean meats and fish.
listen, you have to consider this... some will stick with the mediterranean diet and some dont. i am hesitant because i have reduced seizures with the keto diet and one of the main mediterranean foods i cant have (grains). like i said i dont know your diet. but i know the keto diet. the keto diet works for me.
