What’s Everyone’s Balance Like With Epilepsy.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I can walk but if I were to walk Heel To toe , I would FAIL ! I can’t even walk straight next to my family and friends. Sooner or later , I catch myself drifting towards them or the other direction. Another thing I catch myself doing, is when I turn a corner , I would turn too sharp and bump the corner or wall.

I'm an amputee but ambulatory I walk. Honestly though if I close my eyes long enough I could fall over I used to be well balanced. Now not so much.

My balance is ok, I walk & run fine. I do lose my balance for little to no reason. I've been doing balance exercises, they help a little bit. My best defense is to take things slowly.

Some meds have definite effects on balance and perception. For me, Xcopri has been the worst and most evident.

Leanne Lindsey:
Have always used earplugs/noseplugs when swimming~~BUT never thought about using earplugs when taking a shower?
Might have saved me (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) per ear.
Now if I wash my hair anywhere earplugs go in my ears.
Consider using earplugs when showering~ They may help with the stuffiness.

Also how many pillows do you sleep on?
I sleep on four~~ found I must be "elevated" so my ears are always draining,
so they don't get stuffed up & NEVER sniff IN, always blow OUT !!!
Sniffing in can cause a "Blown eardrum"

Not being able to walk a straight line-medication does effect a person's balance. Do a little research-find out what the side effects are of the medication You are taking.
