Needle Probe Invasive EEG
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone gone through this procedure that can tell me a little bit of info on how much pain and sickness you had after the procedure while waiting for the seizure? And afterwards when you are discharged and go home? Can people stay in the room with you like I could at the EMU? Hard to find info from a patients point of view. Thanks!

Thanks that’s good to know. He has to wait 6 weeks for his brain to heal between surgeries which is a bummer, especially when it comes to missed work. Glad I’ll be able to stay with him again.

Hi Susan, I didn’t have any strip or sheet probes implanted so I can’t speak to those, but as I remember it, I didn’t not have any pain/sickness after they implanted the depth probes.

Since I didn’t leave the hospital between my Invasive EEG and surgery, I also can’t speak to what home recovery from the EEG was like.

Like the regular stays at EMU, family/friends stayed with me my entire time I was there.

Hope things are well.
